A major project for the city of Waverly is still underway as the construction on the Bremer Ave. bridge continues.
Beginning in August of 2024, the bridge is set to be finished in Nov. of this year. The bridge will be 349 feet long and 74 feet wide with a 54-foot road. In addition, the bridge will have a 10-foot-wide trail and an eight-foot-wide sidewalk.
Four pedestrian overlooks will allow for Waverly citizens to view the Cedar River, with plans from the city to add additional artwork or shade. The city of Waverly plans to add flood lights to lighten the area, serving as a new landmark for Waverly.
