On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the Wartburg Knights hosted the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves in the Knights’ home opener of the 2025-26 season.
Going into the meet, Wartburg was represented with seven preseason nationally ranked wrestlers by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
These wrestlers included Brett Birchman ranked No. 7 in the 125-pound weight class, Charlie Dojan ranked No. 4 in the 129-pound weight class, Aiden Brosinski ranked No. 14 in the 165-pound weight class, Carson Martinson ranked No. 9 in the 174-pound weight class, Kasey Ross ranked No. 4 in the 184-pound weight class, Greyson Gardner ranked 14th in the 197-pound weight class and Mitchell Williamson, ranked No. 1 in the heavyweight class.
Prior to the event, the Knights had 949 all-time team wins. After a 54-0 shutout against the Prairie Wolves, the Knights claimed their 950th all-time dual win, the team’s 75th win in Levick Arena.
Looking ahead in their season, both the women’s and men’s wrestling teams will travel to Decorah, Iowa for the Luther Open tournament hosted by Luther College on Saturday, Nov. 15.
